Man Finds Decayed N3 Million Naira He Buried for Safekeeping


An elderly man in Imo State was left heart broken when he went to dig out the money he buried in his backyard for safekeeping two years ago, to his surprise the monies had decayed with very few left barely intact.

He took it to the bank to find out how much he could get for them. Out of the N3 million naira what was left intact was N547,000 naira, which he deposited in the bank after an account was created for him.

The news of the decayed buried monies by the elderly man has the youths in the community vexed, as they surrounded the bank to stone the man, saying that it is wickedness for him to have buried such an amount in his backyard when many are suffering.

The elderly man in his defence says he doesn't trust banks since he had his money lost in Progress Bank of Nigeria that was closed.

Five New Cases Of Coronavirus Confirmed In Lago

The Federal Ministry of Health has announced 5 new cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria bringing the total number confirmed cases in Nigeria to 8. All 5 cases had a travel history to the UK/USA We urge Nigerians to remain calm as public health response activities are intensified across the country. Second Case Of Coronavirus In Nigeria Has Now Tested Negative - Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire

Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, says the second confirmed case of Coronavirus in Nigeria has tested negative. Recall that on Monday March 9th, the Minister announced that a Nigerian man who had contact with the Italian man who is the index case of the virus in Nigeria, tested positive. The Nigerian man met with the Italian man in Ewekoro, Ogun state. At a press briefing today, Ehanire said recent tests shows the Nigerian man is now free of the virus. He also announced that all those who had contact with the Italian man, have completed their follow up period and have been certified free to rejoin the society.
